In this edition of Around Friartown host Nick Rojas talks with Providence College Athletic Director Bob Driscoll and Friars sophomore guard Kyron Cartwright.
Fresh off having two programs ranked in the Top 10 nationally, Bob Driscoll talks about the main difference between his first day on the job in 2001 and now. "I think the thing that is radically different is the culture, the belief that we can be great, that we can compete for championships." Driscoll goes on to talk about the recent announcement of the development of the The Ruane Friar Development Center, a state of the art facility that will house, among other things, a basketball practice facility. "It’s kind of the fulfillment of a dream."
Next up was our first two time guest, Providence guard Kyron Cartwright who talks about the Friars win over Saint John’s and how the two teams have developed a rivalry. “They don’t like us, we don’t like them...You want nothing more than to just win the game.”
Make sure to stick around til the end of the podcast where Kyron shares another Casey Woodring story for the ages.
