Chris DiSano spoke with Rhode Island head coach Dan Hurley on the College Chalktalk podcast about Hurley's decision to remain at URI and withdraw his name from consideration for the Rutgers head coaching vacancy.
The two touch upon a number of subjects related to Hurley's decision-making process, what the Rams have built here in his four-year tenure to date, offseason plans for the team and coaching staff, and more.
"The relationships that have been forged through hard work in building this thing, you can't walk away from," Hurley said.
He expands on his thought process over the last few days, and Hurley notes a couple of "outside" individuals he consulted with during the process to get the straight answers he needed.
"Billy Donovan and Matt Doherty... were two guys that I had great conversations with, not just about decisions I've got to make, but about ways that I can continue to get better, as a coach, as a leader, and as a man."
