Back in mid-January, Seton Hall came to the Dunkin' Donuts Center and got a 81-72 win thanks to a poor shooting effort from the Friars. Ahead of Thursday's big rematch, Vin Parise talks with Pirates Head Coach Kevin Willard. Providence has had more than a week off since their loss to Xavier, and Willard thinks the extra rest will do Ed Cooley's team well.
"Bentil was still nursing a really tough sprained ankle he got against DePaul, and I think Kris Dunn has been playing a ton of minutes. So I think this is a really good time for them to have a bye week," said Willard.
As far as Seton Hall goes, Parise noted that the Pirates are a young team compared to the rest of the Big East, being led by Isaiah Whitehead and a contingent of sophomores.
"The biggest thing is that they really bought into the defensive end, and they bought into the rebounding aspect," Willard said. "So it gives us a chance to kind of get out on the break...where we're really good."
